Greater Kent Historical Society
The Greater Kent Historical Society operates the Kent Historical Museum, which is located in the Bereiter House in downtown Kent. Built in 1908, the historic home is furnished with period furniture and exhibits of local artifacts. Garden artwork commemorates the local Japanese American Community, and the Blue Star Memorial By-Way remembers Veterans of America’s Armed Forces.
Fun fact: In the 1930’s Kent was the self-proclaimed “Lettuce Capital of the World” with trainloads of lettuce heading for Chicago, and a Lettuce Festival celebration each summer!

Fun fact: The Neely family only lived in the home for a short time. After that it was leased to Swiss dairy farmers, Japanese and Filipino farmers through the years. Many people in the valley remember it for the "haunted house" events, but they were only conducted for a few years.
