Arts Alive!

Arts Alive! is an all volunteer organization that raises funds to support the visual, literary, and performing artists on the Enumclaw Plateau.

  

Auburn Arts Commission

The city of Auburn Arts Commission’s BRAVO! series features a mix of dance, music and theater, performed by international, national and regional performing arts groups. The acclaimed Auburn Symphony is a BRAVO! season favorite. The free summer concert series features a mix of musical performances from salsa to rockabilly to world music.

Fun fact: The city of Auburn Arts Commission, a model among suburban local arts agencies, is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

 

Auburn Symphony Orchestra

The Auburn Symphony Orchestra is one of the more astonishing stories in the Seattle-area music world during the past decade, raves the Seattle P-I. Led by Stewart Kershaw, music director and also conductor of the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra, the Auburn Symphony began as a fully professional orchestra in 1996 and performs a caliber of music that draws audiences from throughout the Puget Sound.

Fun fact: Auburn Symphony, which comprises 60 to 70 professional musicians who also play with the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra and other northwest professional orchestras, celebrates its 10th anniversary this season. In addition to its usual concerts at the Performing Arts Center in Auburn, a celebration concert will be held at Benaroya Hall in January 2007.

 

Burien Arts Commission

The City of Burien's Arts Commission promotes and nurtures the arts as an essential component of City life. The Commission focuses on development of Public Art and Arts Education while also providing annual Downtown Art Walks , Summer Outdoor Concerts , City Hall art exhibits and support for Burien's non-profit arts organizations.

Fun fact: The Commission was formed in 1998 making it one of the newest in South King County following Burien's incorporation as a City in 1993.

 

Carco Theatre

 

Cascade Foothills Chorale

An adult SATB chorale that performs 2 major concerts per season. No auditions required to join. $30 dues for each spring & fall concert. Fun-laughter-music! Come join us!

 

Des Moines Arts Commission

The City of Des Moines Arts Commission established in 2006 represents the interests of the City in matters of the arts to inform assist sponsor or coordinate with arts organizations artists and others for the cultural advancement of the community.

 

Enumclaw Parks Rec. & Cultural Services

The City of Enumclaw coordinates, promotes, and supports literary, visual, and performing artists and events, both amateur and professional

Fun fact: There are more artists in Enumclaw than any other city its size.

 

Erwilian

Events on The Edge, Inc.

Events on The Edge Productions formed in 2000 as an interactive theater & production company producing original interactive comedy theater shows for both the general public and customized versions of their shows for corporate clients. Current monthly dinner theater shows include interactive murder mysteries aboard Argosy Cruises and FUH-GEDDABOUDIT! An Interactive Mafia Musical! at Maggiano's Little Italy in Bellevue. Their latest creation, an interactive musical called 'Caffeine! An Addictive Musical' also plays monthly at the Mainstage Comedy & Music Club.

 

Federal Way Chorale

The Federal Way Chorale has distinguished itself through dynamic performances and professional presentation of demanding choral literature.

Fun Fact: Since 1993, the Chorale has distinguished itself under the direction of its Artistic Director and Founder, Mr. Don Barrows. With Mr. Barrows' retirement at the end of last season, the Chorale has a new flavor. We are excited to have the experience and enthusiasm of our new Artistic Director, Laird Thornton, for the 2007 Season!

 

Federal Way Coalition of Performing Arts

A non-profit umbrella organization of eight performing arts groups formed in 1989. FWCPA’s main purpose it to work toward a large (1,000 seat) performance hall in Federal Way. The coalition also presents at least one concert a year.

Fun fact: Represents over 300 performers.

 

Federal Way Symphony

Largest arts group in the south sound area, offering six concerts of diversified programming per season, discounts for seniors, children under 18 admitted free.

 

Friends of Federal Way Libraries

The Friends of Federal Way Libraries support the King County Library Systemıs vision of providing an intellectual adventure for everyone by sponsoring cultural, literary and early learning activities.

 

Gateway Concert Band

The Gateway Concert Band’s mission is to provide musical enjoyment to its members and participate in community activities of the greater Enumclaw Plateau Area; Sumner; Bonney Lake; Buckley; Black Diamond; Maple Valley and others. Open enrollment policy – see auditions page.

 

The Hi-liners Inc

The Hi-Liners Inc is a Youth Theater program dedicated to teaching and advancing the performing arts for the young people of South King County. We have been putting kids DownStage Center since 1966.

 

Kent Arts Commission

The Spotlight Series features performances by regional, national and international touring artists in a variety of genres. The schedule features 15 performances on three stages. The Summer Concert Series
presents live, FREE! performances in Kent's beautiful parks. Performances for kids are held Wednesdays and Thursdays. Music for adults and families is featured on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Fun fact: Spotlight Series annually features a stellar line-up of performances from around the world. Music, theater and dance performances from 12 to 15 performing groups each year draw audiences from throughout the region.

 

Kent School District No. 415

The Kent School District services students from Kent, Covington, Black Diamond, and Renton. With 40 schools there are various concerts theatrical productions and presentations throughout the year.

 

Knutzen Family Theatre

The Knutzen Family Theatre is a 234-seat state-of-the art performing arts center that provides the community with a quality facility that presents affordable arts and cultural experiences in a unique and beautiful setting.

Northwest Symphony Orchestra

The Northwest Symphony Orchestra is a nationally-recognized community orchestra which performs in Burien at the Highline Performing Arts Center under the baton of Dr. Anthony Spain.

Fun Fact: In its 21 years of existence, the NWSO has performed 100 works by Northwest composers, including 37 world premieres.

 

Plateau Community Orchestra

The purpose of the Plateau Community Orchestra in Enumclaw is to provide an enjoyable educational and relaxed musical experience for musicians of all ages and expertise.

 

Randall J. Plut , Consultant

Randall is a classically trained composer and pianist with experience in the theater both as a composer and pianist and as an aspiring playwright.

Puget Sound Youth Wind Ensemble

A youth band for Puget Sound musicians aged fourteen to twenty-one. Membership is by audition. University of Puget Sound is the rehearsal and concert site. Robert Musser, conductor, Emeritus, UPS Director of Bands.

 

Rainier Chorale

Rainier Chorale is an 80 voice community chorus based in Kent. Under the direction of Ron Bayer we are entering our 25th season of celebrating good music.

 

Rainier Symphony

Rainier Symphony has for the last 24 years focused on providing talented local musicians the opportunity to perform great classical music in South King County.

 

Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center

The 2005/2006 Season brings am amazing collection of world music family theatre and dance to the south side of Lake Washington! 

 

SeaTac

We offer a diverse selection of music and theatrical performances in the summer. Photography and fine arts exhibits held annually.

 

Tukwila Arts Commission

The five-member City of Tukwila Arts Commission encourages and aids programs for the cultural enrichment of the Tukwila community. Sponsored programs include the Commission's Annual Art Show & Competition and support of the Community Actors' Summer Theater in Tukwila (C.A.S.T.T.). The Commission is empowered to advise and recommend public art purchases to the Mayor and City Council.

Fun fact:: The Art Commission will assist the City in its 2008 Centennial Celebration with the presentation of a significant art piece!
